PLEASANTON, CA — The Pleasanton Planning Commission unanimously approved a proposal from the Danville Brewing Company to build a 10,000-square-foot facility at 3595 Utah Street, near the intersection of Stanley Boulevard and Bernal Avenue.

According to a planning commission report, the facility will feature an approximately 8,100-square-foot beer production and tasting facility, and a 2,000-square-foot covered patio, along with parking and landscaping improvements. It will also feature two food truck spaces - one fixed, one rotating - and seating for over 200 people across the indoor and outdoor spaces, according to a staff report. Guests will also enjoy firepit seating, outdoor games, and a stage platform for live music.

The expansion comes nearly a decade after Danville Brewing first opened in downtown Danville in 2016. The brewery said in an April Instagram post that it hopes to break ground in late summer.

While the name "Danville Brewing Company" is likely to stay, owner Marcus Maita told the Pleasanton Planning Commission they're considering giving the Pleasanton location a local nickname, like DBC the Ridge or DBC Alisal.

Pleasanton commissioners expressed strong support at the May 14 meeting, with Commissioner Anurag Jain noting it will bring a new energy to a "very industrial" part of town.
