Donlon Elementary School Gets New Principal
Former Walnut Grove Vice Principal Kristina Brown replaces Janet Gates.

PLEASANTON, CA — Walnut Grove Elementary School Vice Principal Kristina Brown has been appointed principal of Donlon Elementary School, replacing outgoing Principal Janet Gates. Brown will be appointed during the school board meeting on Aug. 8, according to Pleasanton Weekly.
Brown has served as the vice principal of Walnut Grove since July 2022, according to her LinkedIn page. Before that, she served a number of roles over 16 years at Manteca Unified School District, including two years as vice principal and seven years as a kindergarten and 2nd grade teacher. She also served as a program coordinator who provided professional development for teachers, conducted data analysis to address student needs, and developed curriculum design and instructional programs.
Brown holds a doctoral degree in education leadership from Cal State Stanislaus, and a masters from Cal State Stanislaus in curriculum and instruction.
