DUI Checkpoint Scheduled In Pleasanton

PLEASANTON, CA — The Pleasanton Police Department will conduct a DUI checkpoint Friday from 6 p.m. to midnight on Santa Rita Road between Rosewood Drive and Pimlico Drive.

Many, including numerous commenters on the Pleasanton Police Department's social media post, question why the exact location of the checkpoint is disclosed. While not all police departments give the exact locations, some do, arguing that it is transparent and fair and still deters impaired driving by spreading public awareness of its dangers and consequences.

Specially trained officers will be on-site to evaluate drivers suspected of being under the influence of drugs and alcohol.
