Final I-680 Closure Set For April
Caltrans said the numerous weekend closures have allowed the concrete to be fixed a year ahead of schedule.

PLEASANTON, CA — Caltrans announced the final closure of southbound I-680, which is scheduled to take place from Friday, April 12 to Monday, April 15. The stretch from the I-580/680 connector to Koopman Road in Sunol will be closed Friday at 9 p.m. to Monday at 4 a.m., concluding more than a year of closures and postponements of closures.
The final closure will complete the concrete rehabilitation of existing lanes a year ahead of schedule, Caltrans said. The work will ensure a smoother ride along new concrete, and eliminate the need for an estimated 40 nighttime closures. Work will continue along southbound 680 at night through typical lane closures.
Portable changeable message signs will be placed prior to the closure throughout the weekend. The closure will be postponed in the event of inclement weather.
