Police Pursuit, Hit-And-Run Ends In Arrest: Pleasanton Police
The driver was arrested in a stolen car, police said.

PLEASANTON, CA — A San Jose woman was arrested Thursday after a hit-and-run crash involving a stolen car in Pleasanton, police said.
Sophia Ornelas, 30, was arrested on suspicion of evading police, possessing a stolen car and hit-and-run, the Pleasanton Police Department said in a statement.
Nobody was seriously hurt in the crash.

Police were first alerted to a stolen car in the city around 2:20 p.m., when dispatchers were notified that a truck stolen in East Palo Alto was on local streets, police said. Officers saw the car on westbound Bernal Avenue near Interstate Highway 680 and tried to pull the driver over.
The driver instead sped into northbound I-680 and drove into the right shoulder, police said. Officers stopped pursuing the car in the interest of public safety near West Las Positas Boulevard.

Police said officers exited the freeway at Stoneridge Drive and saw the car was involved in a crash.
Ornelas ran and was found in the bushes at a Park & Ride parking lot, police said.
Police temporarily shut down a portion of Stoneridge Thursday afternoon.
The California Highway Patrol continued to investigate the crash. Anyone with information is asked to contact police at 925-932-5100.
