Heads Up: Freeway Closure Friday - Monday
This will be the final closure, Caltrans said. Other major roads in the area will also close.

PLEASANTON, CA — Caltrans updated the dates of the final closure of southbound I-680, which is now scheduled to take place from Friday, April 26 to Monday, April 29. The stretch from the I-580/680 connector to Koopman Road in Sunol will be closed Friday at 9 p.m. to Monday at 4 a.m., concluding more than a year of closures and postponements of closures. Northbound I-680 will not be affected.
Southbound Foothill Road and southbound Pleasanton Sunol Road at Castlewood Drive in Pleasanton will also close. Drivers will only be able to turn left onto Castlewood Drive and only turn left again onto Pleasanton Sunol Road to northbound I-680.
The final closure will complete the concrete rehabilitation of existing lanes a year ahead of schedule, Caltrans said. The work will ensure a smoother ride along new concrete, and eliminate the need for an estimated 40 nighttime closures. Work will continue along southbound 680 at night through typical lane closures.
