PLEASANTON, CA — When times are tough, heroes emerge. And Tri-Valley is full of them.

We all know someone who's making a difference right now as we live through unprecedented times. Here at Patch, we've launched an initiative to help recognize these everyday heroes.

This submission comes from Derek Dressler, who nominated Kai Gottschalk of Boy Scout Troop 941 in Pleasanton:

What does the nominee do for work?:
As a minor, Troop 941 and the Gottschalk family have led the charge to provide 3D printed face shields for impacted healthcare workers across America.

Why do you believe the nominee should be recognized or honored?
Kai and Troop 941 must be recognized because of their outstanding work to go above and beyond any expectation to serve those on the front lines of this pandemic. Without any asking, Kai and Troop 941 took the initiative to serve those in need and do their best to save lives in any way they could. For this and more, it is imperative they be honored in such an article.
