If this is the year that you would like to learn more about your family history, come to the Make a Difference Festival. Experts from the Oakland Family History center will have information about how you can get started, as well as demonstrations and exhibits of the possibilities for getting started with your own family history.

Volunteer Opportunities:
. Over 40 nonprofits in the Tri-Valley Area will be there to explain their volunteer opportunities. If you would like to give back to your community, this is where to learn how to do it. Being a volunteer can change your life for the better.

High school students can earn service time with these activities.
Families and kids can sign up to do these service activities.
(1) Tying fleece blankets for the homeless and needy
(2) Making greeting cards for our local senior (for CityServe Families)
(3) Sorting Crayons for "The Crayon Initiative", for children in hospitals.
(4) Making doggie pull toys
