Two men in ski masks approached an occupied car on Oak Vista Way and attempted to open the doors, according to police and witness accounts.

PLEASANTON, CA — Two masked men attempted to open the door of an occupied, parked car on Oak Vista Way Sunday night, according to the Pleasanton Police Department and a witness account. Police say they pursued the suspects’ car for a while, but abandoned the search once they lost sight of it.

According to an anonymous Facebook post, the witness pulled into an on-street parking space near their home Sunday night at around 8:30 to read a few text messages before getting out of their car. The witness said they noticed someone approaching the car from the side mirror.

A man in a ski mask reportedly pulled on the driver’s side handle, while another man in a ski mask pulled on the passenger side door. The doors were locked, and the witness honked their horn, causing the suspects to flee into a black Dodge Charger.
