More Rain To Hit Pleasanton: What To Know
With more rain on the way, here's how to stay safe and dry in Pleasanton.
PLEASANTON, CA — After a brief respite Wednesday, the rain is coming back Thursday, and it's making up for lost time. After a total of 17.5 inches fell across the Bay Area Tuesday, the region is expected to see about 0.25 to 1.25 inches more Thursday. After that, temperatures are expected to plummet to lows in the 30s, likely leading to widespread ice.
"By Thursday morning another plume of moisture will reach the coast as a surface low-pressure system develops offshore," the National Weather Service said. "Compared to the atmospheric river on Tuesday, this system will be much weaker in terms of both wind and rain. Rainfall amounts are generally expected to be 0.25 - 1.25 [inches]."
The City of Pleasanton provides free sandbags to residents at 3333 Busch Road. Sandbags are located in the parking lot under a brown tarp, and can be picked up any time. Zone 7 also provides a self-service sandbag location at the Parkside Administrative Building at 5997 Parkside Drive. Residents should bring their own shovels to both locations.
