Motorcycle Rider Killed In Crash On I-680

BREAKING: The collision blocked all lanes of the highway during the Monday morning commute, CHP officials said.

ALAMEDA COUNTY, CA — A motorcyclist died after crashing into the center divider on Interstate Highway 680 in unincorporated Alameda County near Sunol this morning, according to the California Highway Patrol. The crash was reported at about 7:35 a.m. on northbound Highway 680 near Koopman Road and state Highway 84.

The motorcyclist, for a reason yet to be determined, let his bike drift into the center median and strike the divider, CHP Officer Tyler Hahn said. He was taken to Eden Medical Center, where he was later pronounced
dead, Hahn said.

The crash blocked northbound lanes of the highway until shortly after 10 a.m.
