Mountain Lion Spotted Outside Pleasanton Home

A woman saw a mountain lion on her deck and jumping her fence near Bernal Park.

PLEASANTON, CA — Pleasanton resident Debbie Martin spotted a mountain lion in her yard on Foothill Road near Augustin Bernal Park Sunday, April 28. At around 6 a.m., Martin’s Ring camera went off, and she saw the roughly 60-pound mountain lion out her front window. She looked at more footage that showed it walking on her deck, walkway, and jumping over her fence to the park.

Martin said that while she saw a bobcat near her property many years ago, this is the first time she saw a mountain lion.

The last recorded sightings in the area took place within a few weeks of each other in January near Sycamore Grove Park in Livermore.
