UPDATE: Neighborhood Locked Down; Two Arrested for Stealing Catalytic Converters
Area near Bernal and Sunol avenues was locked down for about an hour this morning, but was opened back up by 7:30 a.m.
Police arrested two men outside 330 Tomas Way this morning on suspicion of stealing catalytic converters, according to an officer involved.
Someone called the this morning after seeing a suspicious vehicle in the 1400 block of East Gate Way and hearing a drilling noise, according to the officer.
Police arrived and pursued a Toyota along Valley Avenue to Bernal Avenue, to Interstate 680 South, then to Sunol Boulevard, then to Junipero Street.

Two men got out of the car and started running while a woman stayed in the car. After a yard-by-yard search that triggered a neighborhood lockdown that lasted about an hour, the two men were arrested. By 7:30 a.m., the lockdown had been lifted.
