The road, also known as State Route 84, closed in both directions between Old Canyon Road and Main Street Monday evening after a chunk of the roadway just east of Palomares Road fell into Alameda Creek during the weekend rainstorms. The full closure was supposed to last until Friday, but a lane opened a day early.
Crews worked to repair rock fall netting, clear vegetation, and install one-way control signals until repairs are complete, Caltrans told Bay City News.
