Pamela Ott Appointed Pleasanton Assistant City Manager

Ott has served as Pleasanton's interim city manager, deputy city manager, and economic development director.

PLEASANTON, CA — Pamela Ott has been appointed as Pleasanton’s new assistant city manager following an “extensive” recruitment process, the city announced Tuesday.

Ott previously served as interim assistant city manager and deputy city manager. She also served as the city’s economic development director from November 2003 to January 2020.

“It’s a pleasure to appoint Pamela formally as the City’s Assistant City Manager. Her customer-oriented approach to meeting City goals and her skill at navigating complex issues and challenges make Pamela an excellent choice for this role,” Pleasanton City Manager Gerry Beaudin said in a news release.

Ott counts more than 30 years of experience in operations and management in both the public and private sectors. During her more than 19 years with Pleasanton, she spearheaded a number of initiatives, including projects with Workday, 10X Genomics and the Johnson Drive Economic Development Zone. She has also overseen the city’s communications; helped enhanced service delivery efficiency, the city’s Economic Vitality Committee and other ad hoc task forces; and served as the city’s representative to numerous local and regional organizations.

Ott served as executive director of the Pleasanton Downtown Association from November 2001 to November 2003 prior to joining the city.

Ott has a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Florida, a master’s degree in Organization Development from the University of San Francisco, where she completed the Continuing Education for Public Officials program.

She served on the Citizens Oversight Committee for the Chabot-Las Positas College District and the board of Valley Humane Society. She currently sits on the Community Advisory Relations Board for Stanford Health Care Tri-Valley.
