Pleasanton Community Garden Offers Plots To Residents
Pleasanton residents can rent plots to garden at Val Vista Park.

PLEASANTON, CA - Summer's in full swing, but many Pleasanton residents may not know that they can enjoy it by cultivating their own garden. Even if you don't have a large backyard, plots are still open at the Pleasanton Community Garden in Val Vista Community Park.
The garden offers 34 full-size plots that measure roughly 12 by 8 feet, according to Rick Wilson, a gardener and Pleasanton resident who handles the garden's community relations. The garden also offers seven 10 x 10' plots. Large patches cost $149 a year, and smaller patches cost $79 a year, according to the most recent information available. Leases run Jan. 1-Dec. 31.
One household is entitled to one plot, and is expected to maintain its upkeep. the city offers water, repairs to the common areas, and some trash pickup.

The garden is open daily all year round from 7 a.m. to sunset.
