PLEASANTON — Traffic through Pleasanton is expected to be a mess this weekend as Caltrans plans to close all southbound I-680 lanes between the I-580/I-680 connector and SR-84.

The closures will be in place from 9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. on Tuesday to repair deteriorated pavement. This is a holiday weekend, for Martin Luther King Day on Monday.

Expect increased traffic on Highway 84, and Interstates 580 and 880 as traffic will be detoured to those roads. Surface streets will also see impacts as people make make their own way around the closure.
