Pleasanton Launches Interactive Art Map

A new digital map allows residents to find more than 60 public art installations across the city.

PLEASANTON, CA — Pleasanton unveiled a new interactive digital map Thursday that will lead residents to more than 60 public art installations in the city.

From the city's iconic 1989 "Girl Reading" sculpture to last year's "Wonderful Wizard of Oz Book Bench," the city has a wide variety on display throughout town. The map is accessible on desktop, mobile and tablet devices by visiting this link.

Residents and visitors to Pleasanton will be able to find sculptures, murals, mosaics and other creative works that adorn the city's parks, streets and public corners.

The city-designed GIS mapping tool includes images and descriptions for each public art piece.

“We are so excited to share this new resource with the community,” said Rachel Prater, recreation manager with the City of Pleasanton Library and Recreation Department. “The interactive map makes it easier than ever to discover Pleasanton’s incredible public art — whetheryou're planning a walking tour or just exploring from your phone. With photos and exact locations, it’s a fun and simple way to connect with the artwork that brings beauty and character to our city.”
