Pleasanton Opens Free Community Compost Hub
The new hub on Laguna Creek Lane is open to residents Friday through Sunday.

PLEASANTON, CA — On Friday, Pleasanton opened a free community compost hub located at its Bernal property at 550 Laguna Creek Lane.
Compost is available to Pleasanton residents to pick up Friday through Sunday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., weather permitting, and is first come, first served. Residents should bring a shovel and container to collect compost.
The pilot project is part of the city’s larger Climate Action Plan 2.0, which aims to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and enhance local environmental sustainability.

The free, high-quality compost will turn food waste back into new flowers, fruits, and vegetables. The process helps keep organic materials from emitting greenhouse gasses in landfills, and serves as a fertilizer to regenerate soil.
