Pleasanton Presents New Arc Suspension Art

The public is invited to attend the dedication event of Jon Seeman's Arc Suspension on May 12.

From The City of Pleasanton: The City of Pleasanton is pleased to announce its latest acquisition of public art and would like invite the public to attend a dedication event of Jon Seeman’s Arc Suspension on Friday, May 12 at noon. The event will take place in front of the Cultural Arts Center, located at 4477 Black Ave.

In January 2016, the City issued a call to artists to create a commissioned art piece, and the Pleasanton Art Selection Subcommittee selected artist Jon Seeman’s Arc Suspension for its artistic design and aesthetically pleasing feel. The piece was chosen from among more than 18 submissions from artists all over the world.

Jon Seeman, a Laguna Beach artist, is known for his abstract sculptures that evoke a sense of motion frozen in time. Heavy steel appears weightless in many of Seeman’s artistic expressions.

The piece, which will be installed in front of the Cultural Arts Center, will cap off a series of renovations and improvements made to the site and serve as a beacon for artists throughout the City. This City commissioned public art project was made possible with the collaboration of Gary and Nancy Harrington, the Pleasanton Cultural Arts Council, and James and Sandra Jellison.
