Rain, Thunderstorms Predicted In Pleasanton
Pleasanton can expect a wet Saturday and an even wetter Sunday, when there is a moderate chance of thunderstorms.
PLEASANTON, CA — Pleasanton and much of the Bay Area can expect moderate rain throughout the weekends, and possible thunderstorms Sunday. The wet weather is expected to clear up by Monday.
Light rain started Friday morning in the Tri-Valley, dropping about a quarter of an inch of rain between 7 and 11 a.m. Intermittent showers are expected throughout the day. BART announced Friday that its trains would run more slowly due to wet weather, and warned trains may run up to 20 minutes behind.
In Pleasanton, 0.01 inches of rain are expected to fall Saturday, and wind gusts are expected to reach 15 mph. There is a 9 percent chance of thunderstorms. Rain is expected to fall throughout Saturday night, and drop another 0.44 inches. Two and a half hours and 0.18 inches of rain are expected Sunday, along with more high winds, and there is a 35 percent chance of thunderstorms, according to Accuweather.

As was in the case in the weeks of storms in January, the North Bay and coastal mountains can expect the highest totals. The North Bay can expect up to a half inch, while coastal mountains can expect about an inch, according to the National Weather Service.
Caltrans has canceled a scheduled closure of northbound I-680 between Sunol and Pleasanton this weekend due to forecasted rain. The road will be open as normal, but is scheduled to be closed the following three weekends.
