PLEASANTON, CA — When times are tough, heroes emerge. And Tri-Valley is full of them.

We all know someone who's making a difference right now as we live through unprecedented times. Here at Patch, we've launched an initiative to help recognize these everyday heroes.

What does the nominee do for work?:
The group is mostly retired, all quilters.

Why do you believe the nominee should be recognized or honored?
They group has been making hundreds of masks since early March for essential workers in hospitals, nursing home, other essential workers like me. Their masks have been sent mostly around the East Bay but some have made it the epicenter of New York and nursing homes in North Carolina and friends and family around the country. All free of charge, all out of their out pockets!
