SigAlert Issued Big Rig Spills Gallons Of Diesel On I-680
A Sunol offramp I-680 was blocked for roughly two hours Friday morning after a truck towing a van spilled fuel. Lanes have since reopened.
SUNOL, CA — A SigAlert was issued after a big rig towing a van spilled approximately five gallons of diesel fuel, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The spill occurred at around 5:50 a.m. Friday near the onramp from Andrade Road in Sunol to southbound I-680, according to a CHP log. A heavy-duty tow truck was dispatched while Caltrans and fire crews cleaned up. The onramp lanes to I-680 were blocked, resulting in a SigAlert.
The situation appears to have been resolved around 7:35 a.m., and all lanes are open as of 9 a.m. Friday.
