Speakers included U.S. Rep. Eric Swalwell and Rosa Lopez, the wife of Miguel Lopez, a Livermore resident deported by ICE.

PLEASANTON, CA —An estimated 2,500 people attended the No Kings rally Saturday in Pleasanton, according to organizers. Roughly 3,500 people attended the neighboring rally in neighboring Livermore, bringing the Tri-Valley total up to roughly 6,000.
Protesters gathered at Pleasanton Tennis and Community Park carrying signs, holding flags, and many were dressed like various animals. Speakers included Rep. Eric Swalwell, California Assemblymember Liz Ortega, and Rosa Lopez, the wife of Miguel Lopez, a Livermore resident deported by ICE.
“We are tired of hearing, "let's make America great again,” Swalwell said in a speech. “What do we really want? To be good again. To be kind again. To be decent again.”

In Livermore, protesters lined both sides of the streets for blocks in all directions from the corner of Portola Avenue to North Livermore Avenue. In addition to numerous signs decrying Trump and the MAGA movement, protesters carried American flags and often dressed in costumes, which ranged from the Statue of Liberty to characters from “The Handmaids’ Tail” to various animals. Actual animals were also draped in various banners and signs.
“On a daily basis, Trump and his enablers and billionaire cronies are working to break down constitutional checks and balances to consolidate power and to enrich themselves, at our expense,” said Marla Kirby, a Steering Committee member of Livermore Indivisible, which organized the rally.
