Triple-Digit Weekend Expected In Pleasanton
Temperatures could rise to as high as 108 degrees.
PLEASANTON, CA — Pleasanton can expect another scorching weekend of triple-digit temperatures. The National Weather Service issued an Excessive Heat Warning from Saturday at 11 a.m. until Sunday at 11 p.m. applying across the inland Bay Area.
The NWS warns of “dangerously hot conditions with temperatures in the 90s to near 110 inland. Overnight lows in the 60s in the valleys, 70s and 80s in the hills” throughout the North, East, and South bays, as well as the Santa Cruz mountains and interior Central Coast.
In Pleasanton, highs are expected to climb to 95 Friday, but will feel like 98. Saturday will see highs of 105 (and feel like 108), and Sunday will see highs of 101 (and feel like 105.) Highs will drop to 96 Monday, then to 86 Tuesday, and remain in the upper 80s and low 90s for the rest of the week.

The Bay Area Air Quality Management has also issued a Spare the Air Alert for the region, warning of unhealthy air quality due to smog. Residents are advised to stay indoors except for in the early morning, and try to avoid driving to minimize car exhaust.

- Drink plenty of fluids
- Avoid spending time outside if possible, and stay out of the sun
- Know the signs of heat stroke, which include a throbbing headache, confusion, nausea, dizziness, fever, strong pulse, fainting, and more
- Keep the air conditioning on
- Wear loose and lightweight clothing
- Never leave young children or pets unattended in a vehicle
The community is welcome to escape the heat at any town or county facility during regular operating hours, including:
- Pleasanton Library, open 10-5 Friday and Saturday, closed Sunday
- Amador Recreation Center, open until 5 p.m. Friday, closed weekends
- Ruby Hill Community Center, open until 4 p.m. Friday, closed weekends
- Pleasanton Senior Center, open until 4 p.m. Friday, closed weekends
