Valley Humane Society Offering Fee-Free Adoptions As Part Of 'Clear The Shelters' Initiative
For two days this month, Valley Humane will take part in a nationwide initiative waiving adoption fees for new cats and dogs.
PLEASANTON, CA — Valley Humane Society is offering fee-free cat and dog adoptions on Friday, Aug. 22 and Saturday, Aug. 23 as part of NBCUniversal's nationwide Clear the Shelters initiative.
The shelter will be open rom 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. both days. All adopted animals are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and up to date on necessary vaccines. For more information and to view adoptable animals, visit valleyhumane.org.
Clear the Shelters is held at different shelters around the country throughout the month of August. Since it began in 2015, it has led to more than 1.2 million pet adoptions and raised more than $5 million. So far, 20,553 animals have been adopted in August 2025, according to a tracker on the website.
