Volunteers In Pleasanton Send Meals To Ukrainian Refugees: Report

PLEASANTON, CA — A lot of people are trying to find a way to help people in Ukraine as Russia invades. Volunteers did their part to aid in this effort Tuesday night in Pleasanton, NBC Bay Area reported.

Volunteers packed rice, soy, and other foods to be sent to Ukrainians. The goal was to box up food to send to refugees in cities along the border, according to the station.

“They’re walking a mile down a hill and bring it back up in a bucket they’re not being able to get the food they need right now,” volunteer Sue Williams, told NBC Bay Area.

Pleasanton-based Kids Against Hunger sponsored the effort. According to their website, the organization has partnered with Convoy of Hope, K-Love Radio, and the Ukrainian Culture Community to get as many meals as possible to Ukrainian refugees. More than 150,000 meals have already been airlifted to the area.
