PLEASANTON, CA — Work to replace a major water main continue to have big impacts on traffic next week on Sunol Boulevard, according to Pleasanton city officials.

The project, which began this week, is part of the city's broader effort to increase water capacity, maintain reliability, and address challenges related to PFAS concentrations, the city said. Once complete, a new 20-inch water main will replace an aging line.

While work continues next week, drivers should plan for significant daytime delays near the intersection of Sunol Boulevard and Junipero Street/Valley Avenue. Officials ask drivers to plan ahead and utilize alternate routes to minimize travel disruptions until the project wraps up.
