Heat Advisory In Effect For Poway

High temperatures of 95 to 100 degrees are expected in San Diego County's inland valleys, according to the National Weather Service.

POWAY, CA — A heat advisory is in effect for parts of San Diego County, including Poway.

The heat advisory is in effect from 10 a.m. Tuesday until 8 p.m. Wednesday for the county's inland valleys, according to the National Weather Service. High temperatures of 95 to 100 degrees are expected in the inland valleys.

"The heat may cause heat illnesses to occur," forecasters warned.

Weather officials reminded residents to:

  • Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room if one is available, stay out of the sun and check up on relatives and neighbors.
  • Young children and pets should never be left unattended in vehicles at any time.
  • Take extra precautions if you work or spend time outside. When possible, reschedule strenuous activities to early morning or evening.
  • Know the signs and symptoms of emergencies like heat exhaustion and heatstroke.
