Heat Advisory Issued For Poway
A heat advisory is in effect from 11 a.m. Wednesday until 6 p.m. Friday for San Diego County's coastal areas and valleys.
POWAY, CA — It's heating up this week in San Diego County. The National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory for parts of the region.
The heat advisory is in effect from 11 a.m. Wednesday until 6 p.m. Friday for the county's coastal areas and valleys, including Poway.
High temperatures are expected up to 96 degrees in the coastal areas and up to 100 degrees in the valleys, according to the National Weather Service. In Poway, high temperatures are expected to reach 91 degrees on Wednesday and 96 degrees on Thursday and Friday.

"Hot temperatures may cause heat illnesses to occur," forecasters warned.
Weather officials recommend people drink plenty of fluids, wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Officials also reminded residents that young children and pets should never be left unattended in vehicles.

"Know the signs and symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke," forecasters said. "Anyone
overcome by heat should be moved to a cool and shaded location. Heat stroke is an emergency."
