10-Year-Old Hiker Suffering from Heat Exhaustion Airlifted to Ramona

The boy was hiking with his father in the Three Sisters Falls area near Pine Valley when he experienced heat exhaustion.

A 10-year-old boy who was hiking with his father Sunday was airlifted from the Three Sisters Falls area near Pine Valley to be treated for heat exhaustion, according to Cal Fire.

The boy and his dad were hiking on the popular trail about 2:15 p.m., Capt. Mike Mohler of Cal Fire said.

The boy's father placed an emergency call and the boy was airlifted to a fire station in Ramona, Mohler said.

The child was then taken to a hospital to be treated for heat exhaustion, but he was expected to recover, Mohler said.
