Classic Rotors Museum Renovations Almost Complete; Hours Increase and Volunteers Needed
Docents are needed to give tours of the museum which houses about 40 vintage helicopters.
Renovations at in Ramona are nearly complete, so volunteers have decided it's time to increase the open hours again.
The museum at Ramona Airport houses about 40 vintage helicopters. The renovation project includes new floors, a gift shop, more spacious pathways inside the museum and polished exhibits.
Now the museum is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Fridays, Saturdays and Tuesdays. The doors are also open one Sunday and one Monday a month for the same hours. Volunteers are needed to help as docents on Sundays and Mondays.

The nonprofit museum relies on donations and the help of volunteers to complete its projects. Many volunteers are retired military, pilots and mechanical engineers but Ron Erbland, one of 30 volunteers who donate time at the museum, told Ramona Patch that volunteers don't have to have an aviation background.
