Hiker Airlifted Out of Mildred Falls Sunday After a 30-Foot Fall
A Sheriff's Department helicopter team aids a man with a broken ankle and rib injuries.
A man was airlifted by a Sheriff's Department helicopter rescue team from the base of Mildred Falls on Sunday after falling 30 feet.
The man, whose name has not been released, is reported to have broken his ankle and sustained rib injuries after falling among rocks at the bottom of the falls, according to a news release. He was hoisted 130 feet up to the helicopter and then delivered to CalFire medics at the top of the falls.
The Sheriff's ASTREA (Aerial Support to Regional Enforcement Agencies) helicopter team arrived at the scene at 4:08 p.m.
