House Sales Down Throughout San Diego County

Sales of homes plummet 20 percent from the same time last year. Prices drop 4.6 percent.

Home sales in San Diego county dropped 20.4 percent in May, compared to May 2010, while prices dipped by 4.6 percent, according to a real estate information service.

A total of 3,087 homes sold locally last month, compared to 3,879 in May last year, based on statistics from La Jolla-based MDA DataQuick.

The median price of a home in the county in May was $324,500, down from $340,000 in May 2010.
