Kenrix Sushi Offers a Great Night Out
Liza Roocroft offers a review of the open mic and other entertainment, plus her "fave" dinner choices.
serves up more than good food, stylish decor and friendly service. It is the place to go for terrific entertainment too.
I started going there to listen to the open mic on Thursdays from 6 to 9 p.m. That still remains my favorite night out in Ramona. The musicians who come to play cover the spectrum from newbies to intricately talented musicians. I enjoy them all.
The open mic night is run by Jon Hasz, local musician and co-owner of , as well as Ramona's new local station, . He brings in an amazing amount of local talent.
Kenrix continues to expand its entertainment menu. Visitors have enjoyed jazz night as well as gypsy dancers and a dinner show having a PG burlesque-ish vibe, staring, "Miss Jones and the Tones," featuring the "Kenrix Dolls." The Dolls are indeed that! Three very lovely young ladies including Harlee, the daughter of owners, Rick and Jama. They dance throughout the room keeping everyone entertained while Miss Jones does her costume changes for her next set. I especially enjoyed the band; Miss Jones can really belt 'em out and the Dolls are candy for the eye. It is a fun show, worth seeing.
Watch the Patch calendar for show schedules or go to Kenrix Sushi Co. on Facebook.
As for the food, you don't have to be all about sushi to enjoy a meal at the restaurant. They have tasty burgers, flavorful pulled pork, crispy, fresh salads and more. My 11-year-old's faves are the Crunch Roll and Hannah's Teriyaki Steak Bowl. I like to get the Kenrix Roll or the pulled pork. The latter has just the right amount of spicy kick for my palate.
So if you're up for an evening of entertainment for your eyes, ears and taste buds, it makes sense to choose Kenrix on a Thursday or Friday.
For a lovely meal and very appealing atmosphere choose any time, Tuesday through Saturday, 4 pm to 9 p.m.

I hope you enjoy all they have to offer at Kenrix Sushi Co. as much as I have.
