The Ramona Valley Vineyard Association is having guest speaker David Mann talk at their monthly meeting on issues all wine-grape growers in the valley face.

Mann, of Sunridge Nurseries in Bakersfield, will present important information for future or present vintners, including:

  • appropriate wine grape root stock for the Ramona Valley.
  • the availability of bare root plants.
  • the differences between planting grafted root stock vs. cuttings. 

The informative meeting will be helpful for those planning to start or expand their vineyard in the near future, according to Ramona Valley Vineyard Association member Elaine Lyttleton.

The monthly meeting will be held at Ramona Valley Grill (formerly Sizzlers) and those interested in attending and eating are asked to arrive early.

The meeting will start at 6:30 p.m on Feb. 26.

"Bring a bottle of local wine to share along with your own wine glasses," Lyttleton stated.
