Update: Slick Roads to Blame for Multi-Car Collision on San Vicente Road; No Injuries Reported

A multi-car collision Wednesday morning on San Vicente Road near Bunnie King Lane resulted in two blocked lanes, but just one "minor injury," Ramona Fire Department/Cal Fire Captain David Hypes told Patch.

According to Hypes, a compact vehicle rear-ended a "uniform van" near the s-curve of San Vicente Road, resulting in a gas leak from the van. Hypes said a Ford Mustang driving in the opposite direction swerved to miss the van and ended up hitting another compact car that had slowed down due to the accident.

Another car also had slight damage done to it, according to the captain.

Hypes said three engines and a medic were called in, but one engine was canceled and no one was transported to the hospital.

"Slick roads played a huge part in this accident," Hypes said.

A 21-year-olf female who was driving the vehicle that rear-ended the van was "shaken up," but Hypes said no major injuries were recorded.

"It shows how safe cars have gotten," Hypes told Patch. "Ten years ago, we would've been transporting people to the hospital [with this type of accident]."

California Highway Patrol issued a SigAlert at 9:15 a.m. Wednesday morning and both lanes on San Vicente Road were blocked.

Hypes said the roads were clear by 11:15 a.m.

According to CHP, a SigAlert was issued at 9:15 a.m. for both lanes on San Vicente Road between Warnock Drive and Wildcat Canyon Road.

A truck was leaking fuel, the CHP reported.

No other information was readily available about the incident, including how many people wre involved, cause and injury information.
