Ramona Urgent Care Clinic Expected to Open in March

The Ramona Ambulatory Care Center will provide X-ray and urgent care services, but not mammography, according to Palomar Health.

A new urgent care facility for Ramona may be open by early March, according to a Palomar Health Media Relations Manager.

Ground broke for the facility back in June of last year and Leonel Sanchez told Patch via email that Palomar Health plans to have occupancy in the new Ramona Ambulatory Care Center by Feb. 28.

The clinic will be open for residents on "March 4 or the following week," Sanchez said.

The Ramona Ambulatory Care Center is a 7,600 square foot clinic and co-owned by Pacific Medical Buildings and Palomar Health and leased by the Palomar Health District, according to the Pacific Medical Buildings website.

Arch Health Partners, which has an office in Ramona already, will move their services to the new Palomar Health clinic, which sits just behind the new Starbucks on 13th Street. They will be the sole tenant, according to Sanchez.

Funding for the urgent care clinic came from a $496-million bond measure passed by Palomar Health district voters in 2004. Some of those funds paid for new Palomar Medical Center in Escondido that opened in August last year.

The Ramona Ambulatory Care Center will provide services like X-ray and urgent care. Sanchez said there is not plan at this time to offer mammography at the center.

Urgent care hours are currently being planned for, the Palomar Heath represenative said, but as of now, the facility's hours are Monday through Friday 3-7 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m.-4 p.m.

Sanchez said Arch Health Partners plans to discuss hours of the urgent care with members of the Ramona Advisory Council.

Contractor for the Ramona urgent care project is C.W. Driver. The architectural firm is Mascari and Warner. Both are from San Diego.
