It's the Age of Digital Everything, so should American elections have an Internet option?
Votenet Solutions Inc. says it has conducted nearly 30,000 Internet elections involving 16.6 million people worldwide, citing clients such as trade associations, colleges, Realtor groups, pension boards and municipalities. San Diego-based Everyone Counts has run online public elections in Chicago, Denver, Honolulu and New South Wales, Australia. So it’s not a fantasy that a vote for Congress or president might one day be conducted online. But are Internet elections an invitation to fraud? Banks rely on the Net. Why not registrars of voters?
