Shooting Death in Lakeside

A Lakeside man is hospitalized after allegedly fatally shooting his wife and trying to take his own life, according to a City News Service report.

Authorities say they received a call early Monday morning from a woman who told them her brother-in-law had emailed her stating that he had killed his wife and was going to kill himself.

Sheriff's deputies went to the man's home on New Bedford Court and found him in a closed room with a portable generator. It appeared he had been inhaling carbon monoxide. Deputies also found the body of the man's wife in the home.
