Heat Advisory Issued For Rancho Bernardo; High Temperatures In Mid-80s

SAN DIEGO, CA — Hot conditions continue to ramp up this week in Rancho Bernardo and across the San Diego County valleys.

The National Weather Service issued a heat advisory for the valleys, including Rancho Bernardo, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday. High temperatures are expected in the mid-90s to 102 degrees for the inland valleys, according to the agency.

In Rancho Bernardo, the daytime high is expected to be 86 degrees Thursday, the NWS reported.

"Hot temperatures may cause heat illnesses to occur," forecasters warned.

The NWS advised people to drink plenty of fluids, stay in air-conditioned rooms, stay out of the sun, and check on relatives and neighbors. Weather officials also reminded residents that young children and pets should never be left unattended in vehicles.

"Know the signs and symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke," forecasters said. "Anyone overcome by heat should be moved to a cool and shaded location."
