Lisa Frost is on the mind of many as flowers populate her memorial in Rancho Santa Margarita.

What's coming up and going down in Rancho Santa Margarita and the surrounding area.

• During the Wednesday evening commute home, a woman crossing the street was struck by a taxi at Santa Margarita Parkway. The update is here, but the blog by witness Margot Ferron about crosswalks is here—it's a good reminder to all, especially as school is under way.

• Martin Gerschwitz, keyboardist and lead singer of the band Iron Butterfly, will perform at Bigshots Billiards Bar and Grill in Lake Forest on Friday, 9 p.m. No cover. On Saturday, the band Five South makes its debut at the same location.

• Wednesday was Sept. 11, a chance for Americans to remember the attacks of 2001. Orange County victim Lisa Frost was remembered in Rancho Santa Margarita at her memorial, and motorcycles took to the street from Cook's Corner in an annual trek to Long Beach in their Ride to Remember 9/11.
