Aggressive efficiency measures, visionary strategic planning, innovation, and a strong focus on customer service have saved millions of taxpayer dollars and returned them back to our customers.
Over the past 12 years, we have successfully doubled local storage capacity, expanded recycled water systems, partnered with local environmental organizations to reduce urban runoff, educated our community about ways to conserve, and employed new energy efficient technologies to improve our water quality. The results are a safer, more reliable water supply that has helped SMWD customers avoid water cutbacks. My priorities for SMWD include clean, affordable and reliable water and continued strong fiscal policies, accountability and sound management of our water resources.
