Small Quake Shakes Santa Ana Mountains; Did You Feel It?

The temblor's earthquake epicenter was 10 miles northeast of Mission Viejo.

A small earthquake rattled the Santa Ana Mountains early today, and was reported by residents from Mission Viejo to Corona.

Automated sensors detected the magnitude 2.6 quake at 3:16 a.m. Preliminary data placed the epicenter 10 miles northeast of Mission Viejo and 13 miles south of Corona.

It was centered one mile beneath the earth’s surface according the the Southern California Earthquake Center’s automated, preliminary report.
