Summer Concerts: Rodeo Drive Is A Country Trip

A week after the Central Park stage rocked out to stadium anthems, fans did the electric slide and sang along to the words of Taylor Swift.

And Johnny Cash, Alan Jackson and Lynyrd Skynyrd.

The self-described country rock band Rodeo Drive took on the full country gamut—although it stopped short of Hank Williams, presumably because of too much twang—and entertained a crowd of about 2,500 who packed into the park's amphitheater. 

The concert was provided through sponsorship by SAMLARC, the city of RSM, and realtors Flo Bullock and John Russell.

The band seemed particularly appealing to younger kids as girls kept requesting hits by Swift. The band obliged—and then some.

The remainder of the summer concert series is: 

• July 29: Paperback Writer (Classic rock with a tribute to the Beatles)
• August 5: The Superfreaks (Hits from the 1970s and '80s) 
• August 12: Hollywood U2 (U2 tribute band)

The two-hour concerts begin at 6 p.m.
