Thousands View Fireworks Spectacular
Annual event in Rancho Santa Margarita delivers a booming finale to 4th of July festivities.
Thousands of local residents, and some who don't live in Rancho Santa Margarita, squeezed into the lakeshore of Lago Santa Margarita Wednesday to take in the annual fireworks display presented as the Star-Spangled Spectacular, the show lasted about 20 minutes, and culminated with a finale that really did live up to its name.

"Best show in years," said one woman rising from her lawn chair when all bombs had bursted in air.
