Enhanced enforcement announced during Operation C.R.A.S.H.

CHP will add enforcement along the I-10 Express Lanes construction zone between I-15 and Monte Vista Avenue during campaign

Slow down. Eliminate Distractions. Arrive safely.

That’s one of the messages behind Operation C.R.A.S.H. (Crash Reduction and Safe Highways), a speed-reduction program led by the California Highway Patrol (CHP) and supported by Caltrans and the San Bernardino County Transportation Authority (SBCTA).

The program will take shape over the next two weeks, with added CHP enforcement along the I-10 Express Lanes construction zone between I-15 and Monte Vista Avenue. Construction zones are a particular concern given the high number of accidents that occur there.

The goal of Operation C.R.A.S.H. is to reduce the number of victims injured or killed during traffic accidents. Unsafe speeds, improper turning, unsafe lane changes, impaired driving and right-of-way violations are the leading cause of highway injuries or deaths. Within CHP’s Rancho Cucamonga service area, nearly 2,000 victims were injured and 19 were killed during the past year.
