Injured Infant Dies at Loma Linda University Medical Center, Police Investigating

An infant boy who was found injured at a home in Ontario earlier this week died Friday afternoon at Loma Linda University Medical Center and police were seeking information, according to the coroner.

Ontario police and fire personnel were called to a residence in the 800 block of West J Street in response to a report of a baby not breathing the morning of Tuesday June 18, coroner's officials said in a statement.

The infant, 7-month-old Lukas Clark of Rancho Cucamonga, "was found to have injuries" and he was taken to Montclair Hospital Medical Center emergency room, coroner's officials said. Lukas was then transferred to Loma Linda University Medical Center's Pediatric Intensive Care Unit.

At 1:30 p.m. Friday June 21, Lukas was pronounced brain dead, according to the coroner's statement Friday evening.

Ontario police were investigating the death, coroner's officials said. Anyone with more information was urged to call Detective Jeff Wentz at (909) 395-2715.
