A Mentone man was injured Thursday when his vehicle crashed into a boulder at Greenspot Road and Santa Ana Canyon Road, the turnoff for Seven Oaks Dam, Highland deputies said in a statement.
The single-vehicle crash was reported at 5:39 a.m. June 13 and responding deputies found a 2002 Chevy Impala resting on its roof.
The driver of the vehicle, Jose Gonzalez, 27, of Mentone, was inside the vehicle with what appeared to be major injuries, deputies said.
Fire department personnel arrived and got the victim out of the Impala, and he was taken to a local area hospital for treatment.
Deputies determined Gonzalez was driving east on Greenspot when for an unknown reason, "his vehicle left the roadway striking a large boulder which caused his vehicle to overturn," deputies said.
No other vehicles were involved in the crash.
