A young woman was injured in a crash early Friday in Grand Terrace and she died less than 90 minutes later at Loma Linda University Medical Center, the San Bernardino County coroner reported.

Sheriff's dispatch received a 911 call about the crash on Barton Road near Preston Street, west of Reche Canyon Road, at 12:17 a.m. June 28, coroner's personnel said in a statement.

"Deputies arrived on scene to find a 2008 silver Kia Spectra had collided with a tree," coroner's personnel said. "The driver, and two other occupants, were transported to the Emergency Room at Loma Linda University Medical Center."

The driver, a woman 18 to 20 years of age, was pronounced dead at the hospital at 1:29 a.m., as a result of her injuries, coroner's personnel said. Authorities were trying to reach the woman's next of kin and her name was not released.

The sheriff's Major Accident Investigation Team was investigating.
